Todos Santos Day Trip: Los Cabos’ Pacific Coast Escape

Todos Santos is about an hour's drive from Cabo San Lucas up the Pacific coast, and it's a genuinely different pace from the marina — an art-and-surf town with a walkable historic center, not a resort strip.

The town itself. Todos Santos is an official Pueblo Mágico, and the historic center reflects it — colonial-era buildings now house galleries, boutiques, and cafés. It's small enough to see on foot in a couple of hours, longer if you linger over lunch.

Surf beaches. Los Cerritos and Playa La Pastora are the two most popular beaches nearby, both with reliable Pacific swell. Cerritos is more beginner-friendly with board rentals and lessons available; La Pastora draws a more experienced crowd.

Food. Todos Santos has built a real reputation for farm-to-table dining, helped along by the organic farms in the surrounding valley. It's worth timing your visit around a meal rather than treating food as an afterthought.

Making the trip. Plan on roughly an hour each way from Cabo San Lucas, more from San José del Cabo. It's an easy full-day trip, or a half-day if you're focused on the town rather than the beaches — either way, worth the drive at least once during a longer Los Cabos stay.
