Kettering, Ohio Guide: The Fraze Pavilion & Beyond

Kettering doesn't get the same attention as downtown Dayton, but for a lot of guests it's the better home base — leafy, walkable in parts, and centered around one of the region's best summer traditions.

The Fraze Pavilion. This outdoor amphitheater is Kettering's biggest draw, running a full concert season from late spring through early fall with acts ranging from touring national names to tribute bands and a well-loved free concert series. Lawn seating is general admission, so if you're going for a big-name show, plan to arrive early with a blanket and claim your spot.

Parks and green space. Kettering has more park acreage per resident than most of the region, and it shows. Indian Riffle Park has trails along the Little Sugarcreek, and Lincoln Park is an easy stop for a picnic or a quick walk between errands. If you're here in warmer months, both are worth a slow afternoon.

Everyday convenience. Wilmington Pike and the Dorothy Lane Market corridor cover groceries, pharmacies, and casual dining without needing to drive into Dayton proper. It's a genuinely easy place to run errands, which matters more than people expect on a longer stay.
